When international students ask us about colleges in Toronto, we have it very clear. There are only 5 big colleges in the city that are well-known and very easy to find on every search we may do on Google.



"The Big Five" is what we call these colleges that are located in the city of Toronto. Only because there are 5 big colleges in the city we can tell that Toronto can be the best city to come to study in Canada, not only for the education but also for the job opportunities that the city offers to our students.


In this post, we want to tell you a little bit about these colleges, but pay attention, because each one of them has a special characteristic and information that may help you find that is the right college for you.



1. CENTENNIAL COLLEGE


Centennial College is the first college in the province of Ontario, and this is why is it one of the most important in the city of Toronto and one of the most recognized colleges in the whole province of Ontario.


They have 6 campuses in the city, some of them designed for specific programs, such as the Morningside Campus, home of most of their School of Community and Health Studies, as well as selected Engineering Technology and Applied Science programs, or Ashtonbee Campus which is home to the School of Transportation and is one of the largest automotive and aircraft technology training centers in Canada.

These are the categories you can find in any program in Canada from a College. You just need to find the different names and certifications. Additionally, there are two kinds of credentials you may get from a college named Ontario College "Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma" or Ontario Graduate "Certificate/Diploma" helping you achieve a different level of education in Canada.

2. GEORGE BROWN COLLEGE


George Brown College is a very well-known college in Toronto since it is the only college that has a downtown location. This makes that each campus is separated from the other, but the advantage is that if you live downtown, this is the best choice for you. With 3 campuses and more than 4 other programs taught at other locations such as Ryerson University, and Sunnybrook Center among others.



With over 200 programs to choose from, they have very good services for international students that help them integrate their knowledge into the classroom, however, the best part of this is that they offer you a huge amount of activities and clubs for you to belong to. 3. SENECA COLLEGE


Located mostly in the north of the city, Seneca College is also a very well-known college in Toronto and Ontario. With more than 150 programs and around 500 career options, they pride themselves on their high-quality education to more than 20,855 full-time students and more than 3,500 international students from 113 countries. Also, this college is not on them for not having several campuses. 10 campuses across the City of Toronto and York Region, including locations in North Toronto, Markham, King City, and at York University and counting.



This college is among the best colleges in Ontario, but not only because of the student population and the variety of programs. 4. HUMBER COLLEGE


Humber College is located on the west side of Toronto but guess what? They opened a new building downtown Toronto, especially for their graduate programs to international students. North Campus and Lakeshore campuses are their main location but are very well connected to public transportation. Their 50 years of experience shows to their more than 33,000 full-time students, including 6,000 international students from 130+ countries that their more than 220 programs available will help you achieve your career goal.

4. SHERIDAN COLLEGE


Last but not less important we have Sheridan College. The college is located all over the place, but mainly they have campuses in the cities of Brampton. Mississauga, and Oakville. Sheridan offers more than 130 programs across five faculties, including 25-degree programs. They are nationally and internationally recognized for excellence in business, digital media, and communications, performing arts, visual arts and design, applied computing and engineering sciences, and community service studies.


As the city of Toronto gets more crowded, Sheridan is the only institution that is betting for cities near Toronto to prepare their students to go into the job market after their graduation.
